BillingBird
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Overview
BillingBird is designed as a local-first business tool. Core invoice, estimate, client, item, expense, receipt, mileage, per diem, payment, PDF, report, and archive records are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, enable optional private iCloud backup, purchase a subscription, or contact support. The canonical DeadStick privacy policy is published at deadstick.net/privacy.html#apps.
Information You Create
BillingBird stores business names, client names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, invoice and estimate details, receipt images, expense details, mileage and per diem entries, manual payment records, tax-summary data, report exports, logo files, and local archive files that you enter or import into the app on your device. Unsaved invoice composer input and local financial recovery state are kept in protected local app storage on your device and are excluded from exported archives.
When Data Leaves Your Device
Data leaves your device only when you use features that require external transmission: explicit PDF, report, archive, or full-workspace export/sharing to a destination you choose; optional private iCloud backup and single-active-device handoff on Apple devices; BillingBird Pro subscription purchases, restores, and entitlement checks; or customer-initiated support messages. BillingBird for Android has no cloud backup: its records stay on your device, and Android system Auto Backup is turned off for the app, until you export or share them yourself.
Subscriptions (Apple App Store, Google Play & RevenueCat)
BillingBird Pro auto-renewable subscriptions are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play and validated through RevenueCat. Subscription processing uses purchase and entitlement history, product identifiers, subscription status, app-scoped subscriber identifiers, and vendor device identifiers (such as IDFV on iOS) for App Functionality (entitlement validation, purchase restoration, and subscription support) and subscription Analytics. BillingBird does not receive or store your full payment-card details, and does not use subscription data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. See the BillingBird Subscription Terms.
Optional Private iCloud Backup & Third-Party Services
On iOS, if you explicitly enable iCloud Backup, BillingBird stores a versioned SQLite
snapshot, app-owned attachment files, backup manifest metadata, and an active-device
handoff lease in your personal private Apple CloudKit container
(iCloud.com.billingbird.app). DeadStick does not operate a central cloud
database of your readable invoices, clients, or receipts. Online invoice checkout is
not available in the current release; if optional connected payment providers (such as
Stripe Connect) are offered in a future release, payment processing will occur only
when you explicitly connect a merchant account and create a checkout session, and this
policy will be updated before that feature is turned on.
Camera and Photos
BillingBird requests camera and photo-library access only for receipt scanning, receipt import, logo selection, and similar user-selected document workflows.
Device Contacts
BillingBird asks for access to your contacts only when you choose to import client details from a contact or to save a client back to your contacts. Contacts are read and written on your device only; BillingBird does not upload your address book and does not use it for advertising or analytics. Details you import become ordinary client records and follow the same rules as the rest of your records, including any export, share, or optional iCloud backup you choose. You can decline the permission and still use BillingBird; clients can always be entered by hand.
Security
BillingBird uses platform file protection and encrypted transport for network features where applicable. You are responsible for controlling access to your device, iCloud account, shared files, exported PDFs, and archive files.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local BillingBird records remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Optional private iCloud backups remain in your Apple iCloud account until you delete the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage; turning backup off in BillingBird stops future uploads but does not delete existing snapshots. Exported PDFs, archives, and workspace files remain wherever you saved or shared them. Subscription transaction records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat as needed for entitlement management, financial recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.
For local, iCloud, and support data deletion steps, visit BillingBird Data Deletion or deadstick.net/deletion.html.
Children
BillingBird is intended for business use and is not directed to children.
